Dual Entry Visa

A double entry visa is required if you enter twice during your trip to mainland China, for example, you travel from mainland China to Hong Kong, then return to mainland China, in which case you must apply for a double entry visa.

It is advisable to carry your passport with you all the times, as you need it to check in at hotels, buy airline tickets and exchange money. Also, sometimes there are random checkpoints at night for passengers in taxis. If you lose your passport, you should immediately inform your embassy.

A single entry visa is normally valid for three months, double entry for six months, and multiple entry for 6, 12 or 24 months. A transit visa generally allows you to stay in the country for seven days but is valid for three or six months depending on the number of entries (single/double).
