08:00 AM – 08:40 AM Visit Jingshan Park
Facing the Forbidden City’s Gate of Divine Valour across the street, the Jingshan Park was an imperial garden during the Ming y Qing Dynasties. The Jingshan Hill, situated on the meridian line of the city of Beijing, provides a panoramic view of the capital.
08:40 AM – 09:30 AM Transport to Summer Palace, approx. 50-miniute driving.
09:30 AM – 11:00 AM Visit the Summer Palace
You’ll visit the best-preserved imperial garden- Summer Palace. It occupies an area of 290 hectares, three-fourths of which are water. The entire area was divided into three sections: the political activity section, the living quarters, and the scenic and recreational section The political activity section was centered on the Hall of Benevolent Longevity(Renshoudian), where Empress Dowager Cixi used to make important decisions on state affairs. Behind this hall and on the shore of Kunming Lake were the living quarters, made up of three large courtyards. To the west of the living quarters, around Kunming Lake and encompassing Longevity Hill (Wansboushan),was the scenic section. The principal building in this section is the Tower of Buddhist Incense (Foxiangge), standing on top of Longevity Hill On the southern fringe of Longevity Hill and stretching along the northern shore of Kunming Lake is the painted Long Gallery (Changlang), measuring 728 metres in length. It has four octagonal pavilions with double roofs at regular intervals. Connecting all the buildings in front of Longevity Hill, it was the longest gallery among the classical gardens. The lake, with the graceful buildings along its shore, reminds one of a classic landscape south of the Yangtze River.

1:00 PM – 2:30 PM Visit the Temple of Heaven
Located in the southern section of the city, Temple of Heaven Park is only a short distance south of the Forbidden City. The park occupies an area of 270 hectares. The principal buildings in the park are the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest (Qi imiandian), the Imperial Vault of Heaven (Huangqiongyu), and the Circular Mound Altar(Huanqiutai). The Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest has a height of 38 metres, a diameter of 3o metres, and three layers of eaves, one on top of the other, crowned with a huge golden ball. The entire structure was built of wood, and not a single nail was used during construction. The absence of nails is characteristic of many of China's ancient buildings The Imperial Vault of Heaven is a single-roofed circular structure with deep blue glazed tiles. Around it is a low wall, well known as the Echo Wall(Huiyinbi). Leading to the entrance are the mysterious Three Echo Stones (Sanyinshi), with their strange acoustic properties.
3:00 PM – 4:00 PM Visit Qianmen Street
Already a major business centre 500 years ago, Qianmen Street is clustered with old stores. Many stores on the "pedestrians only" Dashalan Street, for instance, are at least 100 years old.
