10:00-11:30, Explore Zhouzhuang Water Town
The beauty of Zhouzhuang Water Town concentrates on the water. For water is the soul of the town, Zhouzhuang Water Town is mentioned as "a township on water". There are four rivers flow through the town, two transversal and the other two longitudinal, thus, eight long streets in the town. Therefore, the town is built according to the rivers and the streets arc formed relaying on the water. In the town, the rivers connect to several lakes as well as there are numerous watercourses and ports and people have to move by boats. With the beautiful water landscape, Zhouzhuang Water Town becomes the most typical ancient water town of "Little bridge, murmuring brook, rural cottage" in Jiangnan. By a boat ride on the canals, you can better know the charm of the ancient town.
There are nearly a thousand civilian houses in Zhouzhuang Water Town, most of those are built along with the rivers. At present, a great deal of constructions built during Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty are kept. It includes approximately 100 ancient courtyards such as Zhang's House, Shen's House and Ye Chucang's Residence and about 60 other brick carving gate towers. We select these 3 old houses in the itinerary for your visit.
Shen's House, the large-scaled residential house with over 100 various-sized rooms distributing from the street to the rear river built by descendants of the Number One Magnate Shen Wansan of Jiangnan in Ming Dynasty, is a typical construction group of Jiangnan.
Zhang's House was built by Xu Mengqing who is a son of the Zhongshan King Xu Da in Ming Dynasty. The house possesses five-entries and the Jingjin River flows cross the house. Hence, There is a unique construction style, which is "A litter enters the hall from front door and a boat goes through the house."
11:30-12:30 Lunch at a local restaurant.

12:30-16:00 Transfer to Jinxi Ancient Water Town.
Jinxi is located to the southwest of Kunshan, Jiangsu Province, and 8km away from Zhouzhuang. Its name literally means "bright-colored stream". The charms of the old town can be found in a variety of winding watercourses, embankments, docks, arched bridges, riverside arcades and old neighborhoods.
16:00-18:00 Transfer back to your hotel.
