Northern China Tours

The nation's capital, Beijing, and the Great Wall are among the attractions of the North China Tourist Region characterized by mountain chains and vast expanses of plains. Over a quarter of China's populations live in the two municipalities of Beijing and Tianjin and the provinces of Shandong, Hebei, Shanxi, Inter Mongolia, Liaoning, Jilin and Heilongjiang. In its east are the seaport city of Tianjin and the seaside resort of Beidaihe. In its northwest lie the Mongolian grasslands where nomadic herdsmen live. In its west is Shanxi Province known for its ancient stone carvings. In its southeast is Shandong Province with its capital city of Jinan(City of Springs), the seaside city of Qingdao and Mount Taishan which is known as the first of China's five sacred peaks.

Beijing is the political and cultural heart of China. Chengde became beautiful 18th century resort of the Manchu emperors of the Qing Dynasty. Harbin, capital of Heilongjiang Province, attracts visitors particularly in winter for its ice festival. Datong was built the Great Wall on the Mongolia frontier and famous for the ancient Yungang Grottoes. Pingyao is one of China's best-preserved ancient county towns.
